The largest investment in the Far South Side of Chicago

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is extending the Red Line from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan to 130th Street. The 5.5-mile Red Line Extension (RLE) will include four new fully accessible stations near 103rd Street, 111th Street, Michigan Avenue at 115th Street and 130th Street at Altgeld Gardens. Multimodal connections at each station will include bus, bike, pedestrian and park & ride facilities.

The RLE is building more than bridges, tracks and stations—it's bringing opportunities, connecting communities and transforming Chicago's Far South Side for generations to come. This historic project is creating jobs and spurring economic development throughout the corridor at every phase of the project.
